rush Pronunciation Key (rsh) But we, the sisters of Alpha Sigma Rho, define it as an important time for us to get to know you, and also, for you to know about Alpha Sigma Rho. Joining an eternal sisterhood is a very serious thing, and we need to preserve the sisterhood that our founders have bewstowed on us. Rushing for our sorority is a great opportunity for us to decide if you are right for us. The more rush events you come out to, the easier it is for us to get to know you better - so be sure to try to come out to all of them! So what is rush? Rush is a period of about 2-3 weeks at the beginning of each semester. It is a tme for you, the "rushee," to get to know the sisters of Alpha Sigma Rho, and for us to get to know you, too. All rush events are free, and you are not obligated to join. These events provide an opportunity for you to meet the active sisters of the sorority, meet new friends, have fun, and, most importantly, find out if Alpha Sigma is a right fit for you. After our last rush event, the rushees are given "bids," or formal invitations to join. Each school has different requirements to be considered for a bid. After bids are given, they can then decide whether to accept or decline the invitation. Interested in rushing?
