Q: Why should I join Alpha Sigma Rho?

A: The power of a sister's love and support is what binds Alpa Sigma Rho together. The sisterhood bonds created are treasured throughout your lifetime and are invaluable. ASR strongly believes in the importance of individuality, but also sees the power of what a unified voice can accomplish. The true strength of Alpha Sigma Rho is found in the trust, comfort, determination, and values of each sister. Joining ASR also gives you an excellent opportunity to participate and give back to the UT community. We participate in and run many projects around campus, which in turn rewards us with the fulfillment of truly being part of the UT community.

Q: What do you look for when giving bids?

A: When considering which girl to give a bid, we look for someone who exemplifies individuality, leadership, determination, and sisterhood. ASR welcomes girls of any race and personality to the sisterhood. We believe it is through individual differences that great things are accomplished.

Q: Is promoting scholarship an important aspect of Alpha Sigma Rho?

A: Joining a sorority trains you well in areas of time management. By joining Alpha Sigma Rho, you experience how to manage your own time wisely. This skill develops as you become more active within the sorority. Soon you'll be able to juggle leadership positions, studying, and perhaps even working - and still manage your time well! ASR emphasizes academics as an important priority, as reflected in our GPA requirements and disciplined study habits.

Q: Don't girls who join a sorority just party all the time?

A: Our sisters definitely know how to have fun, but they also know when it is time to buckle down and tend to their main priorities. Academics is a first in our sorority, coupled along with sisterhood and service. As mentioned above, joining ASR promotes time management skills that will last for a lifetime.
